Songbook is a PC program that working bands and musicians can use to manage their songs, gigs, venues and setlists. The information is maintained in a database called the 'master song list' or 'master file'. Multiple gigs or shows complete with start times, break times and stop times may be created for each venue.
Ever wanted to be able to print out nice easy-to-read setlists for your gigs?
Ever wanted to be able to look back and see what songs you played at a particular gig?
Songbook is a PC program that working bands and musicians can use to manage their songs, gigs, venues and setlists. The information is maintained in a database called the 'master song list' or 'master file'. Multiple gigs or shows complete with start times, break times and stop times may be created for each venue.
For the most part, Songbook just prints out nice, readable (= big font) setlists with song keys and user-defined flags for each gig. These lists can also contain start and stop times for sets as well as breaks if desired.
Feature List
- Manages a MASTER database of your songs including song title (long & short), key, length, vocalist, artist, author and comments (5kbytes per record). Words to the songs may also be stored in the db.
- The master file contains 10 user-definable flags which can be used for things like "INACTIVE SONG", "NEW SONG", etc.
- Uses a windows folder structure for storing venues and gig files. Venues may be added, edited and deleted at any time.
- Can manage up to 4 sets per gig.
- Uses a "Pool" for storing all the songs so that a song will not accidentally be repeated in any setlist.
- Songs are dragged to and from the pool into each set. Cutting and pasting works for this also. And there is a Dbl-Click quick method. All three methods of moving songs may be used simultaneously.
- Displays set lengths (in minutes) along with the number of songs in a set during the gig setup process.
- Gig Files can be deleted or saved forever which keeps a history for you.
- Notes may be kept on gigs and venues for historical purposes.
- Can be configured to work with multiple master files if you play in more than one band.
- Can import song data from text files eliminating the need to type it all in.
- Calculates set lengths and break lengths based on Start/Stop times, total gig length, number of breaks and break time percentage.
- Can maintain and print out a "Last Call" flag as a reminder in the last set of the gig.
- Contains several useful reports and text dumping options.
- You can see which vocalists sing which songs in a given show or the MASTER file. You know who's hogging the mike.
- Contains a set of utilities for things like moving gig files between venues, finding duplicates songs in the database, backing up the database, changing vocalists, etc.
- Works in an "Unregistered Mode" for trying out the program.
- And much more...
